Comments for Schonherz, Richard and Scott, Peter, Under A Big SkyE-MAIL: ithomas@lucy.swin.edu.au Predominantly a jazzy New Age album: very laid-back and quite nice as background music. Tracks 2, 5, 7 and 10 feature vocals by Richard Schonherz, singing here in a gruff, lower register that occasionally recalls some of Springsteen''s ballad work. This is a follow-up to Schonherz and Scott''s "One Night in Vienna." The surprise is how radically different this is from Schonherz''s other major musical incarnation as a progressive rock singer/keyboard-player, on Rigoni and Schoenherz''s "Victor: a Symphonic Poem." Fans of that album are unlikely to like this, but this gentle, jazzy album should find an audience among New Age listeners. (Ian C. Thomas) Richard Schonherz: vocals, keyboards. Peter Scott: guitars. Sapphron Obois: saxes. Jeff Beal: trumpet, flugelhorn. Michael Manning: fretless bass. Brian MacLeod: brushes. Produced by Schonherz & Scott and Dawn Atkinson. Executive Producer: Dawn Atkinson.Comments supplied by users do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Roadkill Consulting, Inc. |
