Comments for London, Julie, The Best of Julie London: The Liberty YearsE-MAIL: gmjppi@cbn.net.id dear guys, This is the very best of Julie album. I am dreaming her voice, the best one. A fine compilation from England. Of course it starts out with her biggest hit, "Cry Me a River"...hers was the very first version of this timeless classic; forty-two years after its release hers is still the definitive recording. Other Julie gems included here are: a swinging and strutting "Why Don`t You Do Right," a stellar "My Heart Belongs to Daddy," and a classic "Diamonds Are a Girl`s Best Friend." Julie always had a way with the Bossa Nova; her sultry vocals seemed perfectly matched to those sensuous Latin rhythms, and that point is driven home here with "Desafinado" and a Brazilian-influenced arrangement of "Fly Me to the Moon." Looking for a stellar ballad? Look no further than Julie`s hauntingly beautiful reading of "The End of a Love Affair" and you`ll hear why Julie became the legend she is. Toss in an enticing version of "Love for Sale" and you have one fine collection of a terrific singer`s finer moments.Comments supplied by users do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Roadkill Consulting, Inc. |
