I once owned this cd and have been searching for it forever. If anybody has any information on how to get ahold of a copy, or is willing to sell theirs (good condition inserts are a bonus) please email stuff@chainsawbeer.com

I can remember when this CD was released. I was at the release show. It was one of the best shows I've ever seen in Baltimore. This band had so much potential, and to see all the drumming at the same time was indeed a sight. I was really disappointed when they broke up (from what I remember (and I could be wrong-it was a while ago), one of the bass players, Kevin(?), broke his wrist and couldn't play anymore, this was about 1996 I believe). Blue Mud is a really hard CD to find and as yet I have not found a copy (I have it on cassette but that's worn out!). If anyone is interested, Monkeyspank had another album out before Blue Mud, it's called Daemons Flew Out Of My Mouth. It's well worth listening to and the vinyl LP isn't hard to find. Manny Madison

I was the "other bass player" in Monkeyspank, Kevin Keelty. If you give me a physical address I would be glad to make copies of Blue Mud for ya. Playing in that band was a life-changing experience for me, and I remember (almost) everything with a great deal of joy and pride. It met or exceeded nearly every musical dream that I had ever had. The support from the Baltimore music scene at that time was very humbling. Thanks to everyone who ever cared. A Clarification: no one broke their wrist when we broke up- we just stopped being able to make music we could all agree on. I am living in Seattle now and working for a company that does legal technical support (helping lawyers present evidence in court). Dave Khale lives in Chicago and is, last I heard, married and a bar owner. Allison Futeral is living in SF, but I lost touch with her several years ago (though I would love to hear how she is, hint hint). Kendall King is living in NYC doing Audio/Visual work of some kind. Brian Rice is living in Austin and making music with his new venture, Combo Mahalo ( http://combomahalo.tripod.com/ ). I don't know what happened to Bill Corsello. Glad you liked Blue Mud! -Kevin kkeelty@hotmail.com

just happened across this site. I went to high school (and dated) Bill Corsello. He's now in Austin, playing with Good Times Crisis Band, and managing Emo's Main.

Holey smoke! I found this thread after I came across my blue mud cd and popped it in. Have to say that, for me, it was a little underwhelming, so I dug in the basement and found an old Monkeyspank demo tape with Junk Truck and I am Sam. Now that rocked! Those were some awesome times. Gilligan

I interviewed these guys on the Blue Mud tour when they hit Toronto in 1992. One of the worst interviews I think I ever did, the band got pulled off the freeway by the record company publicist so they'd get some press before their show. I remember Blue Mud was an amazing CD but I didn't score a copy from the record reps and I wasn't able to go to the show that night which I deeply regret. I've been looking for the album for years now.

It is amazing how small the world gets when you search the internet. I have Blue Mud on CD and tape, as well as an alternate version of Dr. Omar from another B-More classic, the Merkin Seedy Sampler. 'Spank and Almighty Senators were the scene back in the day - hands down. The whole MICA music scene may be imitated but never duplicated. We would make the montly pilgrimage to the greatest show on earth every month at Hammerjacks. I am a bit older now and I have moved on also, but the scene and the music lives on in my memories. Keep the music alive!!
