A masterful album. A song cycle "frm cradle to grave". This recording must be listened to in one long sitting to truly appreciate it''s full impact. Lyrically and musically, this is Dan Fogelberg''s most ambitious work. It''s also his best. Of his singles from the album, "Leader of the Band" and "Same old Lang Syne" are true works of art. Of the others, "Ghosts", "Nexus", "The Innocent Age" and "Empty Cages" stand out. No record collection should be without it.

One of the greatest albums ever. Period.
