Comments for Sainte-Marie, Buffy, Coincidence And Likely StoriesThis album is hard to put in one musical catogory. This was Buffy`s comeback album after many years of not recording, and moreso in Canada than elsewhere it was a huge hit. "The Big Ones Get Away" is a political start (many songs on the album bring us back to protest days while staying modern in sound), and "Fallen Angels" is strange but good-sounding. "Bad End" is quite techno and odd. "Starwalker" is a great native-American type song with a real Pow-wow group. "Bury My Heart..." is very powerful and rocks. It ends with a nice lulaby-ish song called "Goodnight". Buffy writes most songs and plays a good majority of the instruments as well as sings with her unique native voice. The album is a powerful statement and Buffy never aged, and the best native American singer makes wonderful music even now.Comments supplied by users do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Roadkill Consulting, Inc. |
