Comments for The Lilac Time, Paradise Circus

The Lilac Time took a slight country turn for their second album, bringing in a banjo and picking up the pace quite a bit. Theresult is a sweet emotional ride whose songs revel in life`shappy little things, and chide those who don`t live it to the fullest. "If The Stars Shine Tonight" admires a young woman`s chastity, but longs to shatter it; "The Girl Who Waves At Trains"celebrates what to someone else might seem a minor scene; "WorkFor The Weekend" laments doing just that; and "The Lost GirlIn The Midnight Sun" covers just about every dreamy girl any of ushas ever loved. Only "Father, Mother, Wife, and Child" slows thingsdown.
