Comments for The Samples, The Last Drag

The Samples are a college favorite out of Boulder, CO (for Rocky Mountain guys, they sure sing about Florida and the ocean a lot). Their style is primarily acoustic, with heavy use of nature/environmental themes. This album is a little uneven, and starts to flag at about song 12. But though not as satisfying as their self-titled debut,"The Last Drag" has plenty of superlative moments. Sean Kellydominates the song list, and his "Everytime" is probably the album`s best song. But other band members` contributions, particularly"Eatonville" and "Conquistador", stay with the listener.
