Like any true artist, Kate Bush continues reinventing herself and her music. This album should be played loud so all the complex layers of sound can attack and soothe your ears. Her reedy timbres weaving in and out of her music are rapturous. She has set out to make an album that is about the sensuality of sound and has come up with a homogenous sound that marks this music as distinctively Kate, but distinctively new territory. Like most of Kate''s work this record requires several listenings before it seeps into one''s psyche. But once it''s there, it will never leave. It''s astonishing that she''s still relatively unknown to the average listener.
