Comments for Essential Logic, Beat rhythm news (Waddle ya play?)

A very strange, very wonderful, very loud album. Spiky music from the very edge of an imagination running wild.

'Beat Rhythmn News' where art thou? Long overdue on CD. A glorious riot of sound, with Lora's punk operatic vocals. The songs appear on the verge of madness, going off on strange jazz/punk tangents, with bizarre lyrics about 'Popcorn Boys' and 'sitting in the bath' watching your life 'collecting dust'. Lora appears tuned into similiar lyrical terrain as Polystyrene during this period; mass consumerism, the effects of advertising, the rootlessness of modern existence, but the lyrics overall read more like modern beat poems set to (trust me on this) very loud, raw music. This is before her group went funky and started to use scratchy guitars a la Maximum Joy, Animal Magic etc and is probably the best way to hear them, if only you can find a copy!
