Comments for Can, Rite Time

As a Can fan, I was disappointed with this "reunion" album. But a few tracks are quite interesting and there is some sense of progression. I hope that they elect to work together again.

My biggest disappointment with Can. Ever. May they all change their names and take up the trombone.

No reason to be disappointed. This one-off reunion was recorded at Michael Karoli's studio in Nice, France, in December 1986. Malcolm Mooney again did the vocals, for the first time in 16 years, and Holger is back playing bass. Of the eight tracks, three are extremely good; On The Beautiful Side Of A Romance; Withoutlawman; In The Distance Lies The Future. The rest - fillers. As for taking up the trombone, I guess Holger's French Horn will have to do...

I was sort of surprised by the fact that this is the only "dark-mooded" record from Can. Apart from that, It is better that might have been made in mid-80s from late-60s band. I like this one but don''t play it too often.

Very interesting, fresh sounding The songs have anunusual flavor to them: very abstract and strange, yet surprisingly easy to relate to.
