Comments for Captain Beefheart and His Magic Band, Mirror Man

Early recordings by the Beef Boy. . . Has a certain manic intensity peculiar to the artist. . . Definitly a must have album. Suffers from the low fidelity of most of his recordings from that era. . . crj

Ain't no problem with the fidelity. This is BLUES squared and taken to the next level.

Amazing record. Jamming blues. The closest the Magic Band ever came to sounding like the Grateful Dead.
Probably recorded in `68 or so at the same time as "Strictly Personal", despite misleading statements to the contrary. WOW! Deep, deep, deep into the blues. Grabs you by the throat and takes you deep into immensely extended grooves. (You have to be in the mood for it, though). Kandy Korn is quite a composition and quite a trip, too.
