Comments for Raitt, Bonnie, The Glow

Another favorite of Bonnie's, despite once again being the subject of sell-out comments. The fact that she enlisted Linda Ronstadt's producer Peter Asher didn't help matters. But the result was still something more rootsy than even Linda could have accomplished. Bonnie's back in R&B mode with covers by Sam & Dave and Mary Wells, while also taking out another classic from Jackson Browne's vast catalog. Some of the more interesting entries include Bonnie's first self-penned song since GIVE IT UP, the uncharacteristically jazzy title track which ranks as one of her best performances, and a song off of Robert Palmer's recent DOUBLE FUN album. When THE GLOW failed to impress many people, Bonnie took three years off from music before once again going back to a more organic sound.
