With NICK OF TIME finally introducing Bonnie Raitt to the public, her old record label Warner Brothers released this collection of her previous material that successfully captures the best points from her career when she was basically paying dues, but still making great music. The song selections are on the whole great, with live versions of some classics, and even managing to take out the best parts of the legendarily-fractured NINE LIVES (1986) album. For those who caught on to Bonnie thanks to NICK OF TIME, this was an excellent way to catch up with someone who was new to success, but had been trying for it for nearly 2 decades.
