Comments for Charlatans UK, The Charlatans UK v. The Chemical Brothers

E-MAIL: martin.gibbins@brunel.ac.uk
never again will such magic be created (long live rob)
This EP would seems like it would have been sent down by the gods; the greatest of all collaborations, past, present or future. I even had to fight my friend for the only copy I have ever seen in the DC-Maryland-Virginia area. Aside from having a fairly scarce piece of Charlatans memorabelia, I wish I had let my friend have it. It is the Dust Bros at their weakest. The Kings of Breaks manage to maul Toothache into a sappy track of un-Chemical breaks and beats. Tracks 2 & 4 are just as easily forgettable. The only track worth playing every now and again is Nine Acre Dust, a ravey remix of Nine Acre Court that pretty much rocks, but can also become repetitive as the only track worth playing. If you want a cool EP to impress other fans with, buy it. If you want something to listen to, look elsewhere in the Charlatans or Chemicals catalogs-- each on their own, they rock the universe.
