Comments for Charlatans UK, Tellin' Stories

After all they've been through, they can still come up with material, and a FEEL like this. I know everyone is saying it, but it's a fitting tribute to Rob.

What a terrific effort! I'm shocked that they pulled it off even after the loss of Rob. The only problem is that "Rob's Theme" sounds more like a Primal Scream song than a Charlatans UK song. The Chemical Brothers have been great influences on the Charlatans.

This album is an absolute classic. It is fitting that they are finally getting the recognotion they truly deserve.

Another solid effort from the group that, by all accounts, should have faded as fast as The Farm and the Soup Dragons. Faced with tragedy and loss, they come back strong and with and incredible amount of feeling. Although not as complete as their prior, Tellin Stories has some great numbers. Title track sounds like a new direction, and both One To Another and North Country Boy are GREAT singles. The influence of the Chemical Brothers and their past collaborations has done wonders. This manchester scene band refuses to die.

This is superb, it just rocks. How High is one of the greatest songs I've ever heard. If anyone has the guitar tab for these songs PLEASE PLEASE E-MAIL ME.

Really, I didn't know how to think about it. First I was really a little disappointed (after all that i've read in magazines about it before buying the album). No song seemed to reach the quality of the last two (in deed brilliant) albums. But more and more it made my feet whipping, singing to it. And now: I LOVE IT! Not that much I loved the last two, but...

i didn't think they'd be able to come up with a better album than the excellent 'the charlatans' or the criminally under-rated 'up to our hips', but they have!! how high is one of the best, most positive songs i've ever heard and it deserved to go to number one - i mean that sickening hanson song doesn't even compare!!!! for a bands fifth album it is rare to come up with something this fresh and exciting. well done!!

This album suprised me. When I first listened to it, I wasn't impressed in the least. But since I have an hour drive to and from college everyday, I started playing .. more and more and more. Just like "Between 10th and 11th", this album grows on me. With No Shoes, One To Another, and the US Only released Title Fight, along with Area 51 just are a lot cooler than they need to be :)

i've been a fan of the charlatans since i first heard some friendly but telling stories blew me away."no voice or poet's pen can touch what hits you in the morning" possibly the best lyric ever written.LIVE IT LIKE YOU LOVE IT.ROY

I recently bout Tellin Stories, Melting Pot, Some Friendly, and The Charlatans UK on a trip to the mall after hearing Between the 10th and 11th (whcih I bought on the spot). What can I say. The Charlatans rock!!! This CD may be the best yet. The beat keeps you into it throughout the whole album, and the vocals get back to the high level they reached on Between the 10th and 11th. I would just like to add that the 1st track is awesome, and if anyone has tabs to With No Shoes, Tellin'' Stories, One to Another, How Can You Leave Us, or How High please send them to me so my band can play them!!!
They are back, even after the hardest of times, and they even manage to sound optimistic and fresher than ever before. They Rock!
