Comments for Cheap Trick, Woke Up With A Monster

Definitely their best in quite a few years. Who lit a fire under their butts?

Great album! Their best in years. Should have deserved more attention, though! CT rules!

Definately a step in the right direction, but still a far cry from their glory days. Produced by Ted Templeton (Van Halen & Twisted Sister) I expected more power. All this time I thought it was Richie Zito that had drained the life from Cheap Trick until I heard this album. Sadly, it looks as if Cheap Trick has done it to themselves. Their newest untitled CD (1997) sounds like Cheap Trick is heading even more towards their old sound. Overall, this is still a good album.

Ted Templeman's production definitely highlights Rick's guitar playing. For once, all the guitar work is crisp and clear. The songs are pretty hard-hitting also. A great comeback!

More energy than Cheap Trick's previous two albums. A decent album, but not quite the Cheap Trick of old.

I saw Cheap Trick in concert in December of 1995 in San Antonio, TX and the show was fantastic. The band played "Didn't Know I Had It" and the song was accepted well by the fans. Rick had introduced the song before it was performed as a song that Garth Brooks was going to record but decided against it. The concert was in a Country/Western club because it was the largest club that could hold the sold out crowd, therefore I could not tell if he was kidding about Garth or not. If anybody knows, please write. Thanks, Jerry

Not a bad effort--I'll take this one over Lap & Busted ANYDAY! My faves include "Girlfriends" & the title track. Does anyone know why there was a "Writers and Publisher Pending" notice on Let Her Go?

GREAT ALBUM, this one hardly left the CD player!!!!!! I think they should have tried to promote CRY BABY, it was different and had awsome beat to it, when Mr Zander hit some of those notes, WOW. it's to bad Warner dropped them, But I think Rick and Co have found a happier home, to finnaly do what they do best, ROCK

Wow, I really disagree with some of the comments here. IMO, the Trick''s worst album. A plain lack of memorable or original songwriting.
On a new label, Rick Nielsen, Tom Petersson, Robin Zander, and Bun E.Carlos are back and as good as they`ve been for quitesome time. "Woke Up with a Monster" is definately not forthe faint of heart. Hard driving, this single got airplay on the rancid MTV toon `Bevis and Butthead` and the groupwas featured in a very spectacular live performance on Letterman.
