Comments for Chicago, Chicago Transit Authority

Chicago are my favourite group of all time, so perhaps my comments may be a bit biased! However, if anyone thinking of trying these albums and getting lots of ballads like the classsic "If you leave me now", forget it! This is early Chicago, at their most creative, with a horn sound unrivalled by anyone, which is perhaps most evident on the superb track "Beginnings". Other great tracks include "I''m a man" (originally by the Spencer Davis Group - Chicago''s only ever cover, but a great version!), "Questions 67 and 68" and the blues-like "Listen". However, instead of picking out individual tracks, it''s best enjoyed listening to all the tracks, start to finish uninterrupted, to fully satisfy. Classic rock indeed! Ross Mackie
Chicago`s, at the time, self titled debut. It features the groups horn sections and has a bluesy feel. Excellent album, much different than later pop albums.

What can I say..This was their Masterpiece!!!!!!! Kaths guitar riffs, Lamms songwriting and Pankows Brass arrangements!!!!! Put them all togheter and no band with horns even comes close!!!!!!!!

I totally agree! I'm listening to "Beginnings" right now... what an incredible song! And such an incredible band! :)
If You Leave Me Now is no classic, but the first two Chicago albums are essential for any real music lover. Superb, inventive and orginal.
