Comments for Drowning Pool, Aphonia

I don't know if this is the sam eDrowning pool that released the Commercial Let the bodies hit the floor, or if theres an affiliation with this outfit, but this album has at least one great experimental non-com track: Chevalier Macgregor which is cery spacey dark. Trippy halled/distorted guitar work. This is the only drowning pool I had ever heard of until last year. I first heard this album back in 1989. You can see where I played it on the air by looking at my dj playlists on www.kfjc.org 6/18/96 as well as other dates I played this track on my radio show. I would like to note that I do not in any way like or enjiy trhe cuurent music beong released ny another band called drowning pool, which may be members of the same band, I really don't know. Aphonia a good creative work from the late eigheies anyhow. -Arno X

This is not the same Drowning Pool many would associate the name with. This Drowning Pool (Adam Elesh, Brett Smith, and Jon Thomas) was out of the eighties and later renamed themselves "Mumbles." Aphonia is an incredible album, and if you ever come accross it I highly suggest purchasing it.

Thanks for the information, as anyone whose ever ventured to South By south west, you may have heard of these folks. But I never knew. THanks for the Great music Knowledge. Alls fair in Love & SOunds -A.
