Comments for Hurley, Michael, Frederick, Jeffrey & The Clamtones, Unholy Modal Rounders, spiders in the moonlightsalred@toad.net I've treasured this album since I ordered it from Rounder in the late '70s. Truely inspired! Great stuff in the Michael Hurley/Modal Rounders vein of folk music. Warning: "Let Me Down" is among the most sacrilegious songs ever written.avamac@hotmail.com Jeffrey Frederick was a preacher's son, and "Let Me Down" was a response. Jeffrey was extremely religious....in his own way. Listen without preconceptions. Really listen.us2barcr@aol.com Used to hang out at "The end of the trail saloon" in Dayton Nv.in the 70's and 80's. Between Jeffrey, Lonesome Wayne and Morgan the was a lot of talant in that little bar.Spiders in the moonlight is still one of my favorite albums. Wish I could find it in a CD, any ideas?dehypnotist@yahoo.com Jeffrey's widow has gotten back rights to Spiders in the Moonlight and plans to reissue it in CD in the not-distant future. First, however, she will release a live 2-CD set. Right now, "Ooh La La Les Clams," also a live set and VERY hot, is available from Frederick Productions. Also an earlier live recording, Jeffrey Frederick at the Ice House. You can contact Kathryn Frederick regarding these CDs at frederickproductions@att.net, or go to www.jeffreyfrederick.com. Ooh la la is available at most Tower Record stores and online. If you love Jeffrey, check out Portland, OR's Freak Mountain Ramblers, about half of whom played in Jeffrey's bands. They play a lot of his songs (www.freakmountain.com)Comments supplied by users do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Roadkill Consulting, Inc. |
