I liked "Gel" and "She Gathers Rain" a lot. The rest are all right to listen to also.

I really love "December" and have been searching frantically for the lyrics, as I just can't decipher the chorus at the end. I think it's a beautiful song, though. I haven't heard the rest of the album, except "Gel."

This album ROCKS! The music is awesome and it also delivers a very good message. My favorite song is, "Where The River Flows."

"Excellent CD, if you like a CD that you can listen to all the way through and like every song this is the CD for you!"

Great rock album. Only one thing bugs me: the band released probably two of the weakest songs on the album as singles (December and Smashing Young Man). Any of the remaining songs would have had more potential.

Collective Soul is a very diversified album. In an age of grunge-filled depression and angst, many of the cuts are light and enlightened, such as "Collection of Goods" and "Bleed" side by side with more powerful and hard-hitting rock songs like "Gel". I am looking forward to more from this band!

By far the best album of 1995. Great guitar melodies and very well written songs. It's also nice to hear a band sing about something other than how awful the world is.

Bloody awesome!!!!! If you like good music, you'll love this album.

In my own opinion, the last album was much better but this one has its moments such as the groove-filled Gel and Where the River Flows. Other than that, I can't find much to rave about. By the way, where's Hints, Allegation and Things Left Unsaid on here? I would put it in but don't know the catalog #.

I think is the best album of 1995, the better songs are "Smashing young man", "Gel" and specially "December" and "The world I know"

an uneven album that contains some really great singles and grooves, and some throw away filler. "the world i know" was one of the best songs released that year and has a beautiful melody. "gel" is definative of their sound. very guitar riff oriented and again catchy. "december" was a good single as well. the rest of the tracks are highlighted by "where the river flows" and "when the water falls". the rest of the album is listenable but forgettable. note: on the first album by collective soul "hints, allegations, and things left unsaid" there are three songs worth mentioning. the big debut hit single "shine" is as good a rock anthem as you can get. "sister don't cry" displays a funky side the band doesn't show much anymore (killer organ jam). but among all the songs i've heard from this band, nothing captures the pristine quality of sound and overall youth than a piece called "wasting time". a gem of a song, and easiest the prettiest guitar solo i've heard in a very long time. "wasting time" is worth the price of admission by itself. shrug.

I think Collective Soul has the best band, and the lyrics are Made by a genius. I love every Collective Soul song except Scream and I love Ed, Will, Dean, and Ross, but Shane is just okay.

This album is a masterpiece, in every sense of the word. I own hundreds of CD's but Collective Soul's self-titled album tops them all. This album is superior, both lyrically and instrumentally, to every other album I have heard released this decade. There are no standout tracks; they are all equally memorable. Buy this album now, and then buy "Disciplined Breakdown," the best release of 1997.

Of course one of the best albums of all time. Every Collective Soul song is great. What else can I say?
Listening to the album for the first time. If you liked Hints, Allegations, ... then you should pick this up. There is really nothing outstanding on the album, but like their previous one, it`s solid. Some funky guitar on Untitled and Collection of Goods. There is the odd annoyance however (faint violin sounds). Overall, a sound album. Buy it. Nice poppy sound.
