Comments for Collins, Albert, The Complete Imperial Recordings

I''d just like to say thank you to whoever worked on this incredible Iceman site. I love Albert Collins. I love to spend hours trying to cop his licks, and I always get to see the guitar in a new way when I''m playin'' Albert, but grasping that tone is a losing battle if I ever faught one. For some reason, it''s real tough to find information on him, so once again thanks for putting this up.
Who else but the Iceman would name a song "Cool`N Collards"? This is one funky soul brother. Very little covers and the majority being swinging little instrumentals--highly unusual for the blues. Simplicity. And of course there is that terminally uncopyable sound. You can sound like Hendrix, attempt BB King, approximate Albert King, or masturbate a guitar like Buddy Guy, but the sonic enigma that is The Master of the Telecaster will forever remain out of reach. R.I.P. My brother.
