Comments for John Frusciante, Shadows Collide With People

Finally John Frusciante's fourth solo-album is in my posession and I just can't stop listening to it; getting better all the time. John's voice sounds less false/squaeky than on his previous albums and it is geat to hear him sing his songs with a complete band; a drummer (Chad on most songs), a bass player (Flea) and the additions Josh Klinghoffer made are OK too. Most songs, like Carvel, Regret, Time goed back and especially Cut-out are very sensitive JF tracks, giving me goose-bumps and a lump in my throat. What stands out here is the harmonious simplicity of the songs, striking just the right string in the 'less is more' way that JF rules in. Some tracks, like This cold and Water are more up-tempo and catchy tunes and the songs containing the numbers are instrumental tracks varying from strange guitar-deformed sounds to almost classic soundscapes. Music won't get much better than this and I think everybody should hear this album so a whole lot of other albums by other musicians will be reduced to the trash they are. Enjoy! JOEBOB
