King of America is one of Costello's finer works, consisting of a raw acoustic sound not heard enough during much of his work with The Attractions. King of America includes styles ranging from folk to blue grass to the frustrated rock of "Misunderstood", originally performed by The Animals. Altogether, this is one of Costello's best albums.
