Comments for Counting Crows, August and Evrything After

This album is really cool. Perfect Blue Buildings was written when Adam was very depressed, and this song comes straight from his heart. You can really feel the pain in his voice when he sings this, especially in a live version

Wow, like, really, cool. Like, is Adam really Van? Or is it just memorex. Kurt is God. Later DICK

The Counting Crows were quite unknown in Holland. Recently they gave a concert here in Amsterdam -> really great. Best CD I bought since ....... Dave.

This is an excellent album with poignant lyrics. There were rumors that C.C. was breaking up but that seems to be just a false rumor.

Best song for me is 'Einstein On The Beach'

I saw the counting crows at the Paradiso in Amsterdam, where they played several songs from this album, and some new ones....I'm looking forward to their new album.... Let's hope it is as good as August.....

Dont forget EINSTEIN on THE BEACH, a great song thats NOT on this album!
E-MAIL: rsalonen@carins.cariboo.bc.ca
It's a good album except for the fact that Sindy Shannon (Sindu) of 98.3 CIFM plays "Mr. Jones" too much.

One of the best Albums I ever heard!! The sad feelings are so deep it can pull tears out of your eyes...seen Adam in Berkley a few times before the album came out...glad they made it
E-MAIL: rwsmith@uiowa.edu
Great album. One of the five best in the 90s. The others are by Jackopierce (twice), Dave Matthews Band, Freddy Jones Band. Anna Begins is one of the greatest songs of all time.
E-MAIL: 255.255.255.0
One of the best records of 1994 for a new band.
E-MAIL: scollier@iastate.edu
The Counting Crows performed on Saturday Night Live nearly a year ago and were relatively unknown at the time. By August (coincedence?) they were one of the hottest things going. I am looking forward to a second (and more to come) album!
E-MAIL: MJohnson@medio.net
I love the album too. One of my all time favorites. Caught Their Seattle show in March of '94. Wow. Anyone heard any info. on a second album. I'm dying here!
E-MAIL: jeroen@student.lmk.wau.nl
Perfect record and perfect performance in Paradiso. Can't imagine the time before without this album
E-MAIL: CrnFlkGrl@aol.com
I always describe _August and Everything After_ as the "best 12 bucks I've ever spent." And it is. Anna Begins and Raining in Baltimore are the most beautifully expressive songs I've ever heard.I can't wait for the new album!!
E-MAIL: ctgcrows@aol.com
Poetry in motion! Adam Duritz is the best songwriter I've ever heard! Check out some of the live acoustic tracks available on CD Singles: "Round Here", "Rain King" and "Anna Begins" are fantastic! "Raining in Baltimore" and "A Murder of One" go straight to the heart. New album due out Spring of 1996. I can't wait! E-mail me if you love the Crows and want to talk more!
E-MAIL: tk149@columbia.edu
This album is so painfully overrated, it's mind-numbing. I am ill from hearing how poetic the lyrics are, when, in actuality, they are essentially stream-of-consciousness jibberish. "Raining in Baltimore" and "Sullivan Street" are the only remotely good tracks. If I hear "Mr. Jones" in a bar one more time, I will vomit on site.
E-MAIL: lmp143@psu.edu
Counting Crows are amazing! The way they combine poetry and emotion is incredible! I can listen to them over and over and never get sick of them. E-mail me if you want to talk.
E-MAIL: adamduritz@leland.stanford.edu
How can you describe them or their album in the space provided here (unlimited). All I can say is cool.
E-MAIL: 96hindss@link75.avcnet.org
Sullivan St. is absolutely amazing, as is every crows song I've ever heard. Some really great bootlegs are floating around out there. CAn't wait for spring '96? Check out Children in Bloom-great live sound, and Adam is God!!
E-MAIL: apoynton@asiaonline.net
Brilliant! One of the best CDs I have evet bought and I have over 800. Rain King has got to be the best song, but it's close between that and Sullivan Street. See ya
E-MAIL: rainking@aol.com
This is by far the best album ever!Every song is pure poetry. All of the singles are awesome to.If anyone wants to talk about counting crows, E-mail me.
E-MAIL: tbrusate@english.as.ua.edu
Another album for the literary-minded. English majors will note that "Rain King" takes its persona from the Saul Bellow novel "Henderson," an allusion to which the song lyrics are quite faithful.
E-MAIL: tnoe@pop.directnet.net
The absolute theme album of my Summer of 94. I'm 40 years old and take my music seriously. The lyrics are intelligent, inspiring, and emotional. BUT WHEN IS THE NEXT ALBUM COMING OUT!!!!
E-MAIL: 101603,1572@compuserve.com
August and Everything after was the definitve debut album of 1994. It has class, emotion, talent and feeling. Duritz's lyrics are sometimes touching, sometimes moving, and sometimes just simply brilliant. If there is anyone out there ever doubting Geffen's ability to pick out new and fresh albums, here is what will prove you wrong.
E-MAIL: wmdharper@aol.com
This is one of my favorite albums of all time. There are however two unfortunate facets: For the first year or so, I thought the radio would be the death of the album. Over and over and over. Somehow, the quality of the album (not a surprise) is able to endure. Second, there is just the one album. An album this intense with variety and depth leaves you wanting more. WE WANT MORE!

E-MAIL: ztv@primenet.com
Best album ever. Rocks. Adam rules. 'nuff said. Zack
E-MAIL: pak@websurf.net.au
Would have to go close to best album ever released. "Anna Begins" is as good as music gets. All the best to Jim Harbaugh and the boys for next season, go those colts. Kellaway was snubbed by Gerald Healey.
Excellent debut album
