Wings Of Joy is an incredable feast of sounds for the ears. If you have been introduced to the Cranes after this album was released then you should start from the begining. This disc is very raw and full of emotion and can really bring you down, and once your down it will continually kick you until the final track, "Adoration," sums up the pain in a whisper, then slowly to a cry and fades away leaving you drained of everything. Alison Shaw's vocals are that of a displaced school girl. Her vocal abalities are incredable and worth double the price of this disc. I highly recommend "Wings of Joy" to anyone who enjoys atmospheric/gothic music.

A great album, an absolutely wonderful collection of fantastic rock tracks. There's powerful music here in such tracks as Starblood or Sixth of May, but then there are much gentler songs such as Adoration. The tracks are packed with great rhythms and haunting melodies, covered by the dreamy and ethereal vocals of Alison Shaw. All in all a very mature effort, that should feature in any serious indie or gothic rock collection. Highly recommended.
