Comments for Cranes, forever

There is a "Jewel" remix EP (Dedicated/BMG, DED07863_62646-2) with the tracks as follows: 1. Jewel (Extended Version) (remixed by Robert Smith and Bryan "Chuck" New) 2. Clear (Ring Tailed Snorter Mix, remixed by J.G.Thirlwell) 3. Clear (Boll-Weevil Mix, remixed by J.G.Thirlwell) 4. Cloudless (Thais Mix) (remixed by Ivo Watts-Rusell and John Fryer) As you would expect, the first track sounds like the Cure, the second and third sound industrial (they even include samples from Neubauten's "1405te Nacht"), and the fourth sounds like This Mortal Coil.

_Forever_ is a little lighter, more atmospheric and "feathery" at times than _Wings_of_Joy_, which came before it, or _Loved_, which comes after it. But it is not light or fluffy by any means, but it is usually less relentlessly dark and less "industrial" sounding than the other two. "Cloudless" is a wonderful mellow, ethereal song to meditate to or entrance yourself to, and "Jewel" is the other song here that especially stands out for me. _Forever_ is my favorite of those 3 Cranes albums (the ones I have); however, people who prefer the Cranes' heavier, more industrial songs might prefer _Loved_.
