Comments for Cranes, population fourThis is much less ethereal than their past albums. Much of it is actually cheerful and upbeat, and it is much more energetic and "rock & roll" than their past albums. It`s like they`ve tried to produce a more mainstream "rock" album -- the thought of which must sound apalling to most Cranes fans (including me) -- however, I have to admit that they do a really good job of it. There`s a bit of the old Gothic/Ethereal Cranes on here, but not all that much of it. Naturally, it doesn`t hold a candle to Forever or Loved, and it`s not as emotionally powerful as those albums. It`s a change of pace for them, but it`s still a very good album, and well worth having.Comments supplied by users do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Roadkill Consulting, Inc. |
