Comments for hue and cry, seduced and abandoned

i bought this album on cassette for £1.99 from the bargain bin at woolies just after christmas in 1988.why such an album of strong pop songs was consigned to the dumper in little over a year is a mystery really and a real shame. fortunate for me though,and i hope others remember the brothers kane's debut album as fondly as i do.it turned out to be their best collection of work.people may remember the looking for linda single from the follow-up remote,or may have seen them on the hit me baby one more time tv show where people like hue and cry made one last stab at the bigtime!if you did see it you'll know labour of love the powerful hit single of summer 1987 but the album was packed with some fine album tracks,history city,goodbye to me and human touch all made up a great side 1(in the days when we had sides!)and alligator man and the album ending truth were the highlights of the lesser 2nd side. around the world in 45,i'll do the globe in 33 indeed!hue and cry are one of the very few groups i have actually bothered to go and see live when they played the birmingham symphony hall in 1991.what a night and what a voice,and all 5 of us,my mom,my dad and my 2 younger sisters remember it fondly. steve's individual track ratings(out of 10)for HUE AND CRY-SEDUCED AND ABANDONED strength to strength(8) history city(8) goodbye to me(8) human touch(8) labour of love(9) i refuse(7) something warmer(7) alligator man(8) love is the master(7) just one word(7) truth(9) 86points/11tracks=7.82rating steve rynne,october2005.
