Comments for DeBurgh, Chris, The Getaway

My idea is that this album is the best that Chris has ever made.

Generally accepted as his finest album, the Getaway includes standards such as Borderline, and Where Peaceful Waters Flow (latterly hijacked by Christian and Gospel groups worldwide). With excellent production from Rupert Hine, this album is orchestrally rich and also varied. The only hit was Don't Pay the Ferryman, a top 40 hit both sides of the Atlantic. Other strong songs include Counting on You and the athmospheric Living on the Island, while the indulgence of the Crusaderesque trilogy that forms the album's final track have provided CdeB with some of his better live concert moments. All in all probably his best work. Check it out.

This album was simply magnificent in it's nature. Chris De Burgh makes the listener feel every up and down moment in the album. This his his best album, but all of them are wonderful.

I love All his music. I would love to see him in concert. I''m a single parent though and things are rough as it is, there is no way I could afford to travel or get into one of his concerts. I wish I could figure out how to get it to play on the internet for me
