One of the first and finest hardcore albums to add socio/polital insight and humor to the loud-fast rules genre

This is the first DK's album, and definitely their best. Every song is a classic, although the cover of 'Viva Las Vegas' is a bit thin.

Definitely DK's best album--had they split after this one they would be even more legendary than the Sex Pistols.

"Fresh Fruit" was my introduction to punk. It has remained the only really important album in my life. Today's so-called alternative is so frustratingly placid/flacid, I pity the young 'uns who only know from Green Day and Rancid. Biafra, Ray, Klaus, Darren, and Bruce not only carried the banner of uh-merican punk, they sewed the fuckin' thing. Real music. Real ideas. and perhaps most importantly real humor. (I ran into Jello late one night at a supermarket in San Francisco, he was cool, low key and shoppinf for beer, like I was. I thingk he bought some cheap shit though.

This album is absolutely essential for everyone, your kids, your wife/husband and your parents. Anyone you care enough about to inform and enlighten them. DK was the Best Thing, except possibly the Germs. This is one of the bands that got me to THINK.
Their first album, and the first album released on AlternativeTentacles. Really cool.Look for DK lyrics, and a bunch of other cool stuff at AT`sgopher site, on WPS.COM.
