A fine piece of Work for the "Grandpa's" :-)

A great album. I think itīs better than the famous albums from them.

The best of the reunitied MK II albums (that is, since Perfect Strangers), mainly to more developed songs and some killer playing from Ritchie Blackmore. Standouts are title track, "Talk about Love" and "Anya"

Well, this is more like it! Ian Gillan''s back and gone is the Rainbow feel of Slaves. Starts off with a bang, then Lick It Up, possibly the worst song in Purple history. Why they put this as the 2nd song, let alone on the album at all is beyond me. After getting off to a great start with the title track, this song just stopped me cold. Ramshackle Man should have gone here. The album as a whole is still very eclectic, but has a fairly cohesive feel to it. Many highlights this time, Anya, Nasty Piece Of Work, Solitaire, Talk About Love. This album didn''t deserve the quick death it got. Part of the responsibility lies with whoever cancelled the US tour. No tour, no sales. The album may not be essential, but it is still a very fine release. Jim C.
