Comments for Deep Purple, Deepest Purple

This album is missing live tracks and MK I/IV- lineups. It is a great introduction to Deep Purple, however. Deepest Purple turned me into a DP fan.

A decent collection as an introduction to the band 70''s material. It is unfortunate that the people responsible decided to omit the 60''s era and the Bolin era, making it an incomplete story. It also points out the attention given to Machine Head era material which the band continued to promote up to the last departure of Blackmore. While not completely satisfying, it did introduce US fans to Demon''s Eye and Black Night on album for the 1st time as well as the organ intro to Speed King. Necessary to the novice fans only or to introduce a total stranger to the bands music. Jim C.
