Comments for Depeche Mode, The Singles 86>98

If you thought that by having all the Depeche Mode albums you had this new release, you are in for a surprise. "Stripped", "A Question Of Time", "Condemnation" and "In Your Room" have been remixed, and with the exception of "In Your Room", which I felt should not have been touched, the remixes are fresh approaches to these classics. "Personal Jesus" is taken from the single, which is the version from the video. Last, but not least, "Only When I Lose Myself" is a mellow song with great lyrics. The only flaw on this compilation is "Everything Counts (Live)", which was taken from "101"; and I do mean taken. I sounds like they just went to the last track of "101" and hit "play" and dubbed it onto this album. They should`ve at least faded in the song.
