yeah, and Jack Kerouac didn't spell his name with a "v." I like almost all of this, too, but I love 'My Sister Rose.'

"Verdi Cries" is by far the best track on this album. This release is probably one of the Maniacs' finest.

I've listened to this album several times, and I still think it's a total bore. Michael Stipe brightens an otherwise dreadfully dull disc. And why does Merchant always sing slightly flat?

A gem. Best album of 1987 without a doubt.

Verdi cries is one of the best songs ever.

Peace Train no longer appears on in store versions of In My Tribe. There was a copyright violation or something; I would greatly appreciate anybody who could tell me where to get an original version.
E-MAIL: ajpearce@uniwa.uwa.edu.au
"Peace Train was deleted from recent issues as a protest from the band in responce to comments by "Cat Stevens" regarding the death threats towards Salman Rushdie, after the release of "The Satanic Verses".

This album is is another work of art by 10,000 Maniacs - Check it out!!!!!!!!! P.S. I don't think Michael Stipe can add anything more to a 10,000 Maniacs song or anyone elses other than whining howling NOISE!!!!! HE SUCKS PERIOD!!!!!

This is one of their best albums.I would say the best song is "Like The Weather".The guitar in it is awesome.I really like Natalie's voice on this.
If you do not own this album your life is not complete. it has got to be the most honest work nat has ever done !
