Comments for Alice In Chains, Alice in Chains

this record is a little bit of a let down. especially since it followed such excellent work on last action hero and the jar of flies album. I kinda expected a little more from the guys. there are some songs on here which aren't what I had in mind. that might sound a bit presumptuous but songs like nothin' song are pretty hammy. there seems to be a big emphasis on improv-free form jams at the end of some tracks, and in most cases the song would have sounded better without them. but having said that, there are a few cool songs. brush away and grind are damn fine, and over now is probably one of their best. again features some great drumming on the part of sean kinney, and jerry has definitely improved on his guitar. I was, however, hoping for more from layne, who did such great work on above, but he seems to be labouring under a huge amount of layering.

Not as good as dirt, but worth buying. 'Grind' and 'God Am' are rockin songs.

This is an awsome album well worth getting - but I wish we could hear Layne sing at least one of the tracks 'properly' Simon.

Not as good as Facelift and Dirt, but a great album in itself. God Am is great, as well as Again.

This album rules. It is not as good as Dirt, but it is really pretty fucking cool. The coolest song on this album is ''Man In The Box.''

I don't care if this album is better or worse than any other Alice In Chains album before. This album is GREAT and you can not compare this album to others because the style is slighty different. Alice In Chains will ALWAYS rock me. I love Sludge Factory, it's the best song on this album

Depressing, warped crap!

HI THERE, HI@IGLOU.COM! IT'S NICE TO KNOW THERE'S ONE SANE HUMAN BEING LEFT IN THIS WORLD! I BOUGHT THIS ALBUM BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT WOULD SOUND LIKE NICE, CRUNCH ALTERNATIVE ROCK (YOU KNOW, LIKE PEARL JAM) AND INSTEAD I GOT BORING, DEPRESSING GUILT-COMPLEX SONGS LIKE "DOWN IN A HOLE", SILLY EXPERIMENTAL TRACKS LIKE "FROGS" AND STUPID BALLADS LIKE "WOULD"! WHAT DO THEY GET OUT OF MAKING SONGS LIKE THAT? ARE THEY TAKING ELTON JOHN'S "SAD SONGS SAY SO MUCH" TOO SERIOUSLY, OR WHAT! IF YOU WANT A FEW LAFFS, CHECK OUT THE PARODY ALBUM, "A TOWN LIKE ALICE".

Just like every other CD, this one rocks! My favorites are Sludge Factory, Frogs, and Heaven Beside You. I think they are the best.
