Comments for Drunken Boat, See Ruby Fallsboingpong@aol.com This is one of the great underrated masterpieces of the 90's. Why these guys never made more than 3 albums is beyond me. It has elements of pure melodic ecstacy combined with outrageous noise showers that make this reviewer gleam with joy. Boaters, whereever you are I love you. Difficult to categorize. A few of the songs are fast,guitar-driven and hardcore-ish, while others are morepoppy and melodic, and a few are really slow, almostatmospheric. I`m not sure if the variety makes thealbum intriguing or annoying, howevery.shoefilth@yahoo.com Drunken Boat is one of those unheard of gems, buy all you can, anytime you find it.sharonkay@earthlink.net Better than Modest Mouse, smarter than a lot of bands, Drunken Boat should have toured with the Pixies and really blown some minds. I still love this band and was suprised to find others still talking about them in such glowing terms.noemailaddress@nothing.com Their best album. The slow songs are pleasant, but the heavy songs are killer: thundering, web-like guitar interplay & expertly executed solid, pummeling drums. An underrated album that deserves much more attention than it ever got.Comments supplied by users do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Roadkill Consulting, Inc. |
