Comments for Dylan, Bob, Slow Train Coming

This was his first album after his conversion to Christianity. You can hear about his spiritual awakening in each song. Powerful stuff.

I do not think that the songwriting on this album is on par with Dylan's very best ie. Blood on the Tracks or Blonde on Blonde but the production and musicianship( especially Mark Knopfler's lead guitar) as well as Dylan's powerful performance make this a very enjoyable and moving album.

I liked bob much better when he was a jew.

No. This is the last album he recorded BEFORE he became a Christian. In many of the songs ( and there are many words ) you can hear him searching.

I am sorry. My last remarks were in error. This was indeed his first album after conversion. Webmaster, please remove my errors!

Whatever happened to that nice atheist jewish kid with a kick ass harmonica and an acoustic guitar? At least he doesn't have gospel singers to back him up--yet. Come Back Bob! Admit that it was just a misguided phase like Nashville Skyline!

For the record Dylan was never an atheist.Just because he was not religious, doesn't mean he denied the existence of a divine figure. That being said, This album is still a good album, and Dylan gives a heartfelt performance.

Dylan won a Grammy for his vocal work on this album. This Album is often criticised for its subject matter, yet it remains as vital as anything Dylan has released. He sings and writes with great conviction, the overall "feel" of this record reminds me of Blood on the Tracks. It is an excellent example of one mans search for his own spiritual awakening. Dismiss this work at your own peril!

This album contains some of Dylan''s best work. Though the material contains Christian content, it does not take away from the music at all. Infact I found the material to be quite inspirational; specially track 6, "Do Right to Me Baby." Slow Train ranks up there with Blood on the Tracks.
