Comments for 2nu, Ponderous

This is a very good group. A real pain to find the albums for. Found it once. It got scatched which really sucks. A lot of soothing music that is pretty good to relax to. Mixed dance, enjoyable, and calming music. A must for theos who like stories and ideas expressed in words.

I bought Ponderous on a single first but was so impressed by "She" the song on the second side that I went in search of the full albumn. I love it! It is funky and silly stuff, something TMBG fans would get into. It is a creative albumn with lots of energy. The full albumn is hard to find and the single I have is almost impossible to find now. It is unfortunate because "She" is only on the single.

This is the strangest CD I own...and probably the most listened to! Amy Manager Clive Dinky's =)

Where can I find this album. I loved Ponderous while it was getting radio play but haven't seen 2nu since.

Is it me or does the narrator/singer sound like the guy from SeaQuest? Amy, Manager Clive Dinky's Home of the No Splinter, Full Woody Tropical Dream Vacation =)

It was strange how I first came across this band. I'm from Seattle, and I *think* that 2nu is also from Seattle. I remember I first heard them on the radio about four years ago, and lots of people liked it. Then it returned to the air about six months later and Ponderous stayed at the number one slot on the local pop radio stations for about a month, and everyone LOVED it! I tried calling around to see if I could find a video of them, and a guy at Tower Records gave me the number of a guy named Jock. (Please note, the lead singer's name is Jock, and there aren't too many people named Jock out there.) I called up this guy and he sounded kinda similar. Unfortunately, the CD case that I had written the number in was stolen along with the rest of my CD's. Luckily, I was able to replace the CD, but I haven't gotten around to finding the number again. The guy at Tower Records also suggested that he thought they were popular in Europe, and maybe a video was in production over there. If anyone knows any more information about this band, please tell me!! Thanks!

I have a hunch the all of Mel Gibson's lines in the original Mad Max movie were overdubbed by "Jock." Does anyone have a clue about what I'm talking about or am I just talking out my posterior?

My brother owns a tape version of this album, and I am constatly trying to borrow it. If anyone knows where/how I can get my own, please let me know.

A friend had introduced me to the 2NU 's Album Ponderous a couple of years back ! I borrowed my friends CD and taped it but to me it's more enjoyable to listen to it on a Cd than a tape ! I have searched for years looking for this CD but alot of people tell me it out of print ! I was dissappionted to find that out since the groups Performance was great ! Anyhow if anyone know where I can get a copy of this cd I will be grateful !

This CD is great, but no song seems to equal "She" from the B side of the "This is ponderous" single. I had the single a few years back, but it's long since lost... If anyone out there has it, or knows someone that does, PLEASE email me! I will either buy it or a copy, thanks!!

I have loved 2nu's really great sound ever since I first heard This is Ponderous. I had the cassette, but took it overseas and lost it (such a loss...) It is out of print, but I managed to find a new CD at a el-cheapo place in a flea market. Coinkidink? I think not. The funny thing is that not a lot of people remember them (or even know who they are), but they were definately big at one time. What happens to people's memories?

It's good to see that I am not alone. I also once had the single, but I loaned it out to a "friend" and never saw it again. I too want th efull album, but I want the song "She" as well. Maybe I'm just asking for too much. I've been bugging atlantic but they refuse to respond. Try this link to bug them. Alas, I am one of the hundreds, maybe thousands of 2NU fans trying to replace my stolen CD. If anyone has any suggestions as to where I could locate a replacement CD, I would be very greatfull.

I own the CD 'Ponderous' and think it's great! I'm sad to see that no one seems to know of any follow-up albums, but I would be willing to make copies if someone would like one (however, I don't know how the laws work on something like this). I've been searching for a copy of the Ponderous album for about as long as everyone else here and it's just impossible to find. You'd think that Atlanic would get the picture and rerelease it. They could make some serious money. Maybe we should get a massive group pf people to e-mail them everyday telling them to release this album. If we became annoying enough maybe they would actually listen.

Also, is it just me or does the guy doing the new radio Mitsubishi (sp?) commercials sound like the same guy.

Well, I'm back. My quest was a rousing success! I have a copy of both the full Ponderous CD and the single CD (which contains the song She). Not only that, but I was nuts enough to go out and buy a WORM drive. Send a blank CD-R and postage paid and $5.00 to cover shipping, nad the time it'll take to make the CD, and I'll sned you a CD with all 11 tracks! That's the ten tracks off the CD as well as the single "She". E-mail me for my current address, as I am in the process of moving right now. I was one of the people that "borrowed" a friends 2Nu tape and forgot to return it. I fell in love with it... then it dissappeared. One day I was lucky and ran across it at a pawn shop...and alas it was also stolen. I am in desperate need of a copy...whether it be the CD or a copied tape. A totally fantastic album! I bought it and the single on tape when it first came out.. I still have the single, but as for the album, I only have the jacket as a grim reminder of the joy I once had... Also like everyone else I WANT A COPY!!! E-mail me if anyone has info on where I can get one.

Ponderous is one of my all time favourite albums and when I lost 25% of my CD collection in a break in I was very unhappy to find that this was one of the discs I lost. This is really POUNDEROUS: I thank you for the copy of SHE, It eased our pain and suffering and our Spaz attacks have subsided some since we got SHE. But we are still looking for a copy of the full length version. My wife and I are waiting as patiently as possible for the release of the new album. In the mean time, SHE will have to do. I thank you again for the album of SHE it was great to hear the band again!!!!!!!!

Like many of the posts on this page, I got the 2nu album when it came it, only to have it stolen. I've been looking for it for years. Then, just the other day a friend was surfing and found the site listed above with all the songs off the album in mp3. It brings back so many memories listening to these songs. Full length debut for this off the wall band. Tripped out music and at times spoken word. Uncertain if a sophmore effort was/is ever to follow, but fans of the eclectic should seek out this albumnif merely for the novelty of it.

I have the c.d. Ponderous, but I can't find the lyrics for Count 'em up Queek. Anyone have them? :s Can I get them? or are the words confidential? I could listen to the song over and over, but I always get a few words wrong and I don't want to. It's a great song. and I wish I could sing it, but I don't know all the words. :s. I need to find a very unusual one that I heard in 1992. My son was home on leave and had a single on cassette called "Ponderous" very strange but fun. Tory was killed in Desert Storm so I did not get this in his personal effects. My daughter is also a Marine and now on her third tour. She will be home in early February and I would like to surprise her with some of her brothers' stuff. Please let me know if this will be possible.
