Comments for Everything But The Girl, Eden

Nope, it wasn't exactly released in the U.S. as a self titled album. The self titled lp had about half of the songs from Eden, and about half different songs that I haven't seen anywhere else. I assume they are U.K. b-sides or something.

Cancel that request above - I have the self titled album now.

i believe the american release of "eden" is the self-titled "everything but the girl," and the some tracks are different. also, it was released in 1984 by sire records and marketed by warner bros. records inc.

Actually, you are correct, this is their first "album" but it was not listed in the U.S. as their first album. What was entitled "Everything But the Girl" is actuall the first side of "Eden" with the Second side being B-sides from some of their singles. Their singles collection is very num- erous, it took me years to amass the ones I have. I must add that they are very good live. "Eden" wasn''t short in my opinion, just to the point.
First album for a talented duo who claim to be the antithesisof a pop group. Quite angry in places, but the vocalistTracy Thorn can make anything sound good. Distinctive, anda great first effort. I think it was released in the US asa self titled album, but not sure - anybody ?
First outing for British duo Tracy Thorn (vocals) and BenWatt (guitar, vocals, etc). Good album but short. Releasedas a self titled album in the United States (I think, cananyone help me here ?). I would be very interested in a track listing, or the US disk itself !!!
