Comments for Extreme, Waiting For The Punchline

E-MAIL: Lindsay.Ward@jcu.edu.au
Extreme have produced another classic album of their inimitable brand of quality music. Once again they've shown that they can't be limited or restricted by being labelled as any particular style or type of music. Whatever they do, they do it well. From the groove-funk oriented "Hip Today" to the sweet, melodic sounds of "Unconditionally", Extreme continue to be one of the foremost bands of our time, remaining relatively unrecognised however, as they don't fit into the proverbial "box" of a certain style. Extreme are driven by their good songwriting, each song meaningful and artfully constructed, and of course by the legendary guitar work of Nuno Bettencourt. With the addition of new drummer Mike Mangini, look for Extreme to continue doing what they do best - writing and playing songs that rock you to the core (leaving you begging for more).

leave me alone rules. Mangini was awesome on the tracks he played on. It's sad that we will never hear more from them.

Waiting for the Punchline is a great acheivment from the beantown boys(Boston). There are 12 tracks including a hidden title track at the end of the record. The sound is earthy and raw and every note creeps out.Extreme is a very powerful band unlike anyother and it's displayed brilliantly here.
