My mom used to play this and "Hotel California" nonstop when I was growing up...now that I'm 25 I see what all the fuss is about. An utter classic. With "Hotel California" and Carole King's "Tapestry," this is one of the greatest albums ever recorded.

One of those albumse EVERYBODY seemed to have about 20 years ago just like Meat Loaf's BAT OUT OF HELL, and a lot of people still keep it in their current collection on CD. That's because it's one perfect album. You can feel the way the members of Mac came out of the `60s but the album is of the 1970s fully starting off with the eccentric "Second Hand News" (Lindsey). You get the mystical, hold-me-close "Dreams" (Stevie), never-give-up "Don't Stop" (a real anthem for Fleetwood Mac; written by Christine for John), true classic "Go My Own Way" (written by Lindsey for Stevie), "Gold Dust Woman" (Stevie), raw-edged "The Chain" (for once, a song written by all five members), and the lovely "Songbird" (Christine)

....this album follows a lot of the love breakups in the band (Christine and John, Stevie and Lindsey), called a musical soap opera.....but this album is more than that, and it remains more....

This is a great ALBUM. That is to say, this is a great collection of good singles. ''Songbird'', ''Dreams'' and ''Go your own way'' are brilliant singles that will remember for a long time. But I think there''s no strong edge in this album. We have to ask more of this from Mac ''cause they were and are capable of making not only sophiscated song-collections but also real masterpieces like ''Then Play on''.
