Comments for Foreigner, Unusual Heat

E-MAIL: ctabar@tripath.colosys.net
The "forgotten" Foreigner album, which is a shame. There are some really great songs on here, ones worth of the Foreigner name. "Safe in My Heart" is an outstanding ballad and "Lowdown N Dirty" is a great rocker, for example. I saw Foreigner the night they opened their tour in support of this CD, with Johnny Edwards singing. He did several songs off the "Unusual Heat" album, then sang "Waiting for a Girl Like You". After he was done - and he sang it beautifully I might add - he asked the crowd "Was that ok? Did you like that?" like he was nervous about singing old Foreigner stuff. He shouldn't have been - he was great that night and it's a shame he's been kicked aside now that Lou is back in the fold.

Though Lou Gramm didn't do the voices in this CD, I think Itīs a very strong work. Johnny Edward's singing is really great. And songs like Lowdown and dirty and I'll Fight for You, are cool enough to be listened to. I donīt understand why this CD didn't do well on the stores.

You have to admire Johnny Edwards. The pressure of replacing Lou Gramm must have been overwhelming. He did a fine job but let's face it...it's GREAT to have Lou back. I knew Mick would get Lou back after I saw FOREIGNER w/Edwards in Charlotte. After they did "I Want to Know What Love Is" I could tell Mick knew something wasn't right. Don't feel bad Johnny...NOBODY would have been able to replace Lou. By the way, I enjoyed the album and still listen to it on occasion. MICKSTER

I have to agree with everybody''s comments. It was a highly underrated CD.Lou''s voice can''t be duplicated but Johnny did a great job in a very difficult situation.I personally liked this CD better than Mr Moonlight(with Lou)since it seemed to contain more rockers and the background vocals on several songs(I''ll Fight For You and Only Heaven Knows)were fantastic.
Johnny Edwards replaces Lou Gramm as lead vocalist when Grammstarts his solo career. Normally found in record store"bargin bins", even Foreigner has "forgotten" this effort inthe two "greatest hits" albums they released following this album.
