Comments for Frente!, Marvin the Album

Great depressing music, the kind that makes you think about life and, for me, write.

This is not a depressing album. it's actually kinda happy. i like it, but what do i know? Cuscutlan is like the best song on this album. i have no idea what the title means, but it is a great song. plus, you gotta love the Barry white thing the stuck on that one song. i died laughing.

I agree, it's a very happy album, and her voice is beautiful, this album is great, specially the songs Girl, Labour of Love, Ordinary Angels and of course Bizarre Love Triangle, which by the way made me buy the album, it's a pity that in my country (Guatemala), it's hard to find this music in stores and in the radio.

I just got the album and I think it's great. (I love semi-depressing music ;-)

The whole thing with Frente! has always been the way they write a sad, sad song and somehow it comes out like the chirpiest thing in the world, not always of course, there's `Book song' (Clunk EP) now there's a depressing one! Cuscutlin, is about war or something, I cant remember now but it's meant to be about the quandry of war, I read it in some interview with Simon, also he said that Ordinary Angels was about He and Agie fighting, and yet it was the cheeriest thing I'd heard in years, along with the sugarcubes `Hit" that came out at the same time. Anyway looking forward to their new LP

"Marvin the album" is the beautiful cd of the 20th century, we hope Angie would play a new album soon. The best song is the cover "bizarre love triangle". We are italian boys and we speak a little english,so don't worry. Write me back.

This is the greatest pop album tha I've ever heard.I don't find Frente music depressing as some guy here says In fact I find it fresh with an positive attitude to life like in "Accidentally Kelly Street". Whenever I feel blue,I hear this album and makes me come to live Angie's voice is the sweetest in the whole world! I know it may sound exagareted but that's the way I feel SO I WANT A NEW BRAND RELEASE FROM FRENTE! I just saw Frente in concert today in Washington, DC (7/17/96). They were INCREDIBLE. Much much better sounding live. I heard that their next stop is NYC. If you get an opportunity to see them, you should go. They're touring for their new album, Shape.

This album just keeps getting better each time I hear it. It has become a standard in my disc changer. Angie Hart has the most interesting and physical voices I have heard. She actually makes her voice part of the music, rather than just a means to get the lyrics out. Particularly strong music/lyric tracks are Ordinary Angels and Cuscutlan (whatever that means). I tell everyone that I know to get this cd. I have aslo recently started to listen to their next cd "Shape". The music has a different feel, but doesn't lack that untangible something that makes their music so compelling. I give it a thiry thumbs-up! (you'll get that when you see the cd cover)

I originally got this album for two reasons: -- I liked her voice -- and I liked their cover of New Order`s "Bizarre Love Triangle"Turns out that her voice is beautiful on the whole album.
