Comments for Funkadelic, Funkadelic

mommy, what''s possibly the most down-home funky album of all time? you know - the kind of funk that makes you think you stink even if you just got out of the shower? the kind that makes you feel greasy? the kind that makes you want to have hot and sweaty sex with the biggest, baddest person you can find? why, son, you''re describing funkadelic''s first album!
The fist Funkadelic album released, this shows George Clinton`s early experiments in mixing R&B with psychedelic rock. The R&B side wins out more on this one, but Eddie Hazel`s feedback soloing is all over the place. My only sore points for this album are that the drums were not recorded that well (by modern standards, anyway) and that the organist does not come anywhere near the talents of Bernie Worrell. Apart from that, this is another essential Funkadelic release.
