Comments for Gang Of Four, Entertainment!

Entertainment is the only album by Gang of Four that I've heard, but it is truly brilliant. Obvious influences on Chili Peppers, U2, among others. Good stuff.

It is their first album, from 1979. Great sound, great music - tight minimalistic flexible funk. The lyrics are a bit much, but yes the music was quite influential and yes it is pretty intense.

Gang of Four's ENTERTAINMENT will stand as one of the most important post-punk records of all time. The herky jerky rhythms, the odd time signatures, and the incrediably cool weirdness of it all, make it an extremely entertaining listen indeed. May take a few listens to really sink in,but when it does you'll be addicted. This album was reissued on CD in 1995 with bonus tracks from an EP that followed it.

Entertainment! is truly a great album, amusing for any mood. The choppy guitars and rolling bass lines make for great music. My friends and I can''t stop listening to this album no matter how hard we try, and its been years.

I BELIEVE THIS IS THE FIRST ALBUM FROM THE VERY COOL EARLY PUNK `GANG OF FOUR`. A MUST HAVE, FAN OR NO.
