Comments for Grateful Dead, Go To HeavenE-MAIL: jlowe@central.georcoll.on.ca There is nothing "classic" about this mediocre stoned-out-of their-skulls hippie rock. Go and buy a Beatles album rather than waste your money on this trash.E-MAIL: nlt1@acpub.duke.edu What the Hell is that guy talking about? This is one of their weakest efforts, but the Grateful Dead still rock.E-MAIL: Mhss@centuryinter.net jlowe@central.georcoll.on.ca is ignorant. Was that comment necessary?? Go to Heavan is full of great tracks (i.e. Althea, Saint of Circumstance, Feel Like a Stranger). It's not a weak effort, it just has a goofy cover.E-MAIL: cedavid@pegasus.rutgers.edu The album contains great tracks that sound much better live & can be found on many tapes as well as "Without A Net" and "Dick's Picks 5&6" (as of now)E-MAIL: PURLJFC E-MAIL: PURLJFC I NAMED MY BUNNY AFTER THE SONG ALTHEA,I LOVE THE ALBUME-MAIL: charles.carlino@prudential.com It''s slick, it''s concise, it''s professionally produced... In other words, it pretty much goes against everything the Dead have admitted they''re good at. That said, it''s a wonderful, tight sounding rock album. Looking at Go to Heaven as such, I have to give it a high rating. When this album came out, in ''80, I looked at it as the mark of a ''new beginning.'' In ''97, I still look at the album as a high point. Great songs (Alabama Getaway, Althea, Lost Sailor->Saint of Circumstance, Don''t Ease Me In), tight ensemble playing, clean, crisp sound, and enthusiasm. What more could you want from a Dead studio album? It should have been a ''hit,'' and I think it''s one of those albums you don''t have to be a Dead fanatic to like. if u didn't like go to heaven,u'll never go to heavensarit@ureach.com if u didn't like go to heaven,u'll never go to heaven The Grateful Dead are:Jerry Garcia, Brent Mydland, Billy Kreutzman, Bob Weir,Phil Lesh & Mickey HartProduced by Gary Lyonswhere'sthedarkstar@jerry.com Solid album.Comments supplied by users do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Roadkill Consulting, Inc. |
