Comments for Harper, Ben, Fight For Your Mind

it is beyond me how someone would *not* be able to find a song that they like on this record. ben harper is a songwriting genius, and certainly knows his way around his guitar. I bought this record after hearing one song, and I don't regret it. my favourite songs are ground on down, please me like you want to, another lonely day and excuse me mr. if you like music by guys like cat stevens, bob marley or jimi hendrix, then ben harper is your man. he somehow knows how to fuse the spirits and abilities of so many varied forms of music, and makes it so good to listen to. I'm going to have to buy his first record :)

I first saw Ben Harper open up for Dave Mathews this summer, He only played for 20 minutes but what a set! This guy is for real. The song "Ground on down" is awesome and the extended jam on "god fearing man" is incredible. Now I have something to look forward to in music ... Ben Harpers next release.

Sort of like the artist was in their head living and feeling what they were going through. I never really felt that before until I heard Ben Harper's music and lyrics. He made me cry, made me say Amen, made me nod my head and made me feel like I wasn't alone. I am writing this now not knowing if this message can be transmitted to him but if so there is only one thing I'd like to say to him: Thank You!
