What a combination: some of jazz music's greatest tunes, sung by the fabulous Miki Howard, in dedication to the peerless Billie Holiday! "What a Little Moonlight Can Do" soars, "Solitude" stuns, and "I'm a Fool to Want You" shines as one of the finest jazz covers of the decade. A spectacular effort.

Who would have thought that her renditions of the Great Billie Holiday would sound this DAMN GOOD!!!!!! Impressive is not the only word I can decribe for this album. Anyone who passed this one up must not appreciate good music. The best track on here was "I''m A Fool To Want You". The rest were also just as good but that track took her up to the next level of Jazz at it''s finest moment. Miki, if you''re reading this, please release a Volume 2 to this one....SDeez

Absolutely most beautiful tribute to Billie I've EVER heard. Miki is AMAZING and was backed up by an awesome ensemble. This CD is invaluable.

This CD is simply incomparable. I have spent the etire weekend transferring all my CDs to my new iPOD, and thru all the Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughan, Dianne Reeves, Diane Schuur, Nancy Wilson, and Carmen McCrae, etc. CDs, I find that I desparately miss "Miki Sings Billie" (I lent it to my son, and it has since disappeared). Even though the classic and contemporary jazz divas above created a stellar legacy, Miki Howard does a stunning job of continuing that legacy in "Miki Sings Billie". I, too, sincerely hope Miki will come out with another tribute album in the same vain as Diane Schuur's "In Tribute" CD. "Miki Sings Billie" seems to be nearly impossible to find anymore, so a new compilation would be a Godsend.
