A classic synth pop album. Definitely the Human League at their finest. There are 5 UK hits on this LP

Couldn't agree more, the definative sound of its era. One of the essential album purchases of the 80's

Having read the above comments, I find myself saying the same things! What a great album! The balance of upbeat synths and depressed lyrics is a winner - plus "Dont You Want Me" has to be one of the best singles ever written. It's just a shame that they couldn't reproduce the winning formula on follow-ups; lets be grateful that they gave us this stunning record.

I agree -- this is a great album. FYI - it was released on Virgin Records in the UK in 1981 and the catalogue number is V2192 for the LP and CDV2192 for the CD.

This is not only the best League effort, but one of the best albums ever recorded. That's not just my opinion, check with Rolling Stone Magazine. They rated it in the top 100 rock (using their term - not mine) albums of all time. It amazes me that even in the face of Techno and Industrial movements this album still sounds fresh and inspiring. If you are a true fan of "Don't You Want Me", pick up the new remixes of this universal hit by Snap and Red Jerry. They create a new spin on this classic that complements the original quite niecely.

I just borrowed a friends Nine Inch Nails book and a copy of The Human League's "Dare" LP. It is no wonder that Trent Reznor (NIN's frontman) credits the League with today's industrial success. Kudos to Mr. Reznor for giving The Human League the respect they have so long deserved!
