Comments for Husker Du, New Day RisingE-MAIL: joeland@matt.ksu.ksu.edu **** (5 star scale)-- One of the greater hard core albums of all time, right along with Zen Arcade. --J.teelE-MAIL: sthum@nmu.edu I'd have to say the best husker du album. A definite must.E-MAIL: bradm@rhf.bradley.edu I would be surprised if any band can combine Husker Du's hardcore roar and melodic sensibilities this successfully. A high-watermark in anyone's book, "New Day Rising" shows both sides of Husker Du better than any of their previous or later records. Standouts: "I Apologize," "Celebrated Summer," "Terms of Psychic Warfare."E-MAIL: pulatino@aol.com This was the first HD album where nearly every song was a standout, its like Zen Arcade without all those crappy tuneless fillers in between the SONGS! Mould starts getting more experimental, Hart writes a couple a real beauts (Terms of Psychic Warfare, Books about UFO's), and the whole thing fuzzes and buzzes and annoys the hell outa your neighbours!!! A brilliant taster, the best was STILL to come....!E-MAIL: gryniuk@hotmail Even though I don''t think this was their best album, it was by far the album I played the most. Diverse, angry(do you know of any Huskers that isn''t) melodic, funny(Skin A Cat,Whatcha Drinkin")neurotic(Plans I Make, Books About U.F.O.''s) happy(Celebrated Summer,If I Told You)innovative(Perfect Example, Bob''s patented mumbling, guitar work). Probably not as as their best albums(Zen,Metal Circus) but a close second>Comments supplied by users do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Roadkill Consulting, Inc. |
